A sensual experience

This painting began with a playful exploration of form and colour. I sketched the seashells and starfish loosely, allowing their natural curves to guide the composition. Watercolours provided the vibrant base—layered in washes and bold strokes to create depth and movement. I introduced gold leaf to highlight certain edges and textures, adding a luminous quality that shifts with the light. Applying the gold was a delicate process, requiring patience and precision, but it brought a sense of richness and timelessness to the piece. The white textured mount was chosen to echo the tactile nature of the subject itself.
